He was also, in poems such as 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner,' 'Christabel,' and 'Kubla Khan.' the most uncanny, surreal, and startling of the great English poets.

Amazon.com Review
"Kubla Khan." "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner." "The Eolian Harp." Samuel Taylor Coleridge was a genius who wrote some of the greatest poems in the history of the English language. Together with his friend William Wordsworth, he provided the best articulation of Romanticism, as well as some of the most powerful examples of that aesthetic. This collection, from the excellent Everyman's Library Pocket Poets series, includes not only Coleridge's poetry, but also some selections from his insightful essays and letters about poetry. But of course, it's the poems that count the most, as evidenced by this excerpt from one of Coleridge's less legendary works, his beautiful tribute "To William Wordsworth," which was written after hearing his friend give an especially moving reading. These sentiments could easily apply to the author himself: "The tumult rose and ceased: for Peace is nigh / Where Wisdom's voice has found a listening heart."

It's a very elegantly bound book with a great selection of Coleridge's poetry
By Paige O
Gave this to my fiance as a gift when his father passed away. It's a very elegantly bound book with a great selection of Coleridge's poetry. I ended up taking off the book jacket, as I thought the hardback book itself was very beautiful and simple.

"Where Alph the sacred river ran through caverns measureless to man/ down to a sunless sea
By Shalom Freedman
I have a special fondness for these 'Everyman Collections'. There are of course many other 'selected poems editions' of the most notable English language poets, but the 'Everymans' have a compactness about them I like. They contain selections of the most memorable work of the poet.
Coleridge whose scattered multiple- mindedness was the great sign of his genius nonetheless managed to concentrate and create the hypnotic 'Kublai Khan' and 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner'. This work contains the most well- known of his lyric works. It is not a volume for the scholar but for the popular reader who wishes to have his Coleridge in a very handy form.

Pocket Poems A New Favorite
By RickDeckard
Books on a Nook are good and fine for junk food books I would only buy in softcover, but Coleridge in my library deserves something acid-free and cloth bound. I have a poetry lover emerging in my family who got this for a gift along with the Pocket Poe, and I was so pleased with the quality of the Pocket Everyman's (Cloth Bound) that I am going to get some for myself. It has pretty much everything that really is essential and it will last. Print and paper quality are smooth and easy on the eyes. This is what a book SHOULD FEEL LIKE.
As silly as it sounds, I actually have a growing library of Everyman's purchased over the past 15 years and I'd say about 3 shelves worth plus some Library of America cloth and/or leather bound books are my pride and joy. They really are lasting, gorgeous, and worth the extra money (sometimes cheaper than the other formats from other companies).
PS: Please, Everyman's: get The Invisible Man by Ellison someday. You can't buy it hardcover at all in a new edition that isn't falling apart.
